This study aims to analyze the reasoning ability in solving a mathematical problem by looking at type of student learning style. uses qualitative descriptive research method. The subjects were six students SMP Kudus Pekanbaru class VII. instrument was form description two questions, style questionnaire, and interviews. questionnaire consists students' positive negative sentence questions. Then, selection with visual category taken from three who seen high, medium, low cognitive scores. After that, based on scores, tested through written test regarding problem-solving see their abilities. Moreover, would also be interviewed obtain additional information—at medium level. Based indicators reasoning, best statements are style, propose guess is auditory Performing manipulations, styles have done quite well, find patterns make generalization kinesthetic manipulation Checking validity an argument drawing conclusions learning.
